About Salt & Light Ministries
Salt & Light Ministries is a Christian biblical education, outreach, and programming ministry committed to helping people know God’s Word, grow in their faith, and live out the Gospel through service, compassion, and community engagement.
Our name comes from Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:13–16, where He calls His followers to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We believe that calling is both spiritual and practical. Christians are called to know the truth of God’s Word, reflect the character of Christ, serve others with compassion, and make His light visible in the world.
Salt & Light Ministries is not a church. Our purpose is to complement the work of the local church by providing biblical education, outreach opportunities, resources, and Christ-centered programming that equips people to grow in faith and serve their communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide biblical education, compassionate outreach, and Christ-centered programming that strengthens individuals, families, and communities while sharing the hope and truth of Jesus Christ.
We seek to create opportunities for people to:

- Develop a stronger biblical foundation

What We Do
Biblical Education
We believe biblical literacy is essential to a strong and growing faith.
Salt & Light Ministries develops teaching, resources, and learning opportunities that help people understand Scripture in context, grow in spiritual maturity, and apply biblical truth to their lives.
Our goal is not simply to provide information, but to encourage transformation through the Word of God.
Community Outreach
Faith should be visible in how we serve others.
Our outreach efforts are designed to respond to practical needs with dignity, compassion, and care. As the ministry grows, we are developing opportunities to support individuals and families through community service, resource distribution, partnerships, and other forms of outreach.
Christ-Centered Programming
We are developing programs that educate, encourage, connect, and support people across generations.
Our vision includes programming and outreach for:
- Children and youth
- Families
- Seniors
- People with disabilities
- Individuals and families experiencing hardship
- Underserved and vulnerable communities
We believe every person should be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Evangelism
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is central to everything we do.
Salt & Light Ministries seeks to create opportunities for people to hear the Gospel while also equipping believers to confidently share their faith and live as witnesses for Christ in their homes, workplaces, churches, and communities.

For us, Salt & Light is more than a name. It is a reminder of the responsibility believers have to live out their faith in a way that points people toward Christ.
We want everything we do—our teaching, outreach, programming, service, and resources—to reflect that calling.

Meet Our Founder and President
Shajuan Young
Salt & Light Ministries was founded by Shajuan Young out of a desire to help people grow in their understanding of God's Word and to put biblical faith into action through service, outreach, and community-centered programming.
Her vision for Salt & Light is rooted in the belief that biblical education should lead to transformed lives, compassionate service, and a visible expression of Christ's love in our communities.
Through Salt & Light Ministries, Shajuan is working to develop opportunities for biblical learning, evangelism, outreach, service, and programming that reaches individuals and families across generations.
The ministry continues to grow through the support, service, wisdom, and involvement of others who share its commitment to biblical truth and compassionate community engagement.
